About a month ago I had the chance to be apart of a special day for Taylor + Nicole. Well I wasn’t really apart of it, obviously. However I was able to shoot it. :)
Proposal shoots are few and far between, at least for me, but when they come along I really do love them. It’s such a different atmosphere than engagement shoots and weddings. It’s not about going to different locations, saying stand here, hold this balloon, throw paint at each other. It’s not about a schedule that everyone has to stick to, to make sure the day goes off without a hitch…well i take that back. Obviously the guy is freaking out. Worries of wether or not the other person suspects anything, forgetting the ring, saying the wrong thing or worrying about some freakish disaster to happen that, in all likelihood, will never ever happen.
I remember those feelings and looking back, although I was about to vomit at anytime, I loved those feelings.
And that’s it! That’s what it’s about! Feelings of something new that’s about to take place in the lives of two separate people. A wave of new beginnings for each person before the “I do’s” and before becoming one in the eyes of God.
So when my good friend Taylor (who is a great photographer as well. you should check him out….seriously. Well not now, but after you finish viewing this post.) wanted me to be there to capture their day, I was so stoked, not only for the chance to shoot it but, for both Taylor + Nicole. I always feel very honored when asked to capture these moments and hopefully their moments and feelings come through in these images.
